Server Rules
All players must follow these rules when using our server, Discord, or forums. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for breaking them.
We generally follow a 3 strike policy, however, it is neither a guarantee of leniency nor a doomsday clock. If you join and the first thing you do is in bad faith, we are going to skip ahead. If you have been a consistently positive presence but make a few mistakes occasionally, it's no big deal. We don't remove warnings or moderation logs, but we do take the amount of time and your chat history into consideration. For example, 4 months between warnings for someone who is here every day look different than someone who was only here twice during those four months and got a warning both times.
Section 01 — Chat Offenses
C-01 · Harassment & Disrespectful Behaviour Serious
Targeting, insulting, or threatening any player is strictly prohibited.
C-02 · Spam & Flood Minor
Sending repeated messages, character floods, or excessive use of caps in public chat is not allowed. Advertising other servers, YouTube channels, or external links without permission is also considered spam.
C-03 · English Only in Public Chat Minor
All public chat must be in English so our moderation team can effectively monitor conversations. Private messages and party chats are exempt — you may use any language in those spaces.
C-04 · Inappropriate Content Serious
Sharing, describing, or referencing sexual content, graphic violence, self-harm, or illegal activity in any chat channel is forbidden. TheSplashMC is accessible to players of all ages.
C-05 · Drama & Server Uproar Serious
Deliberately stirring up drama, spreading rumours, or attempting to cause conflict between players or against staff, whether in chat, Discord, or through other players, is not tolerated. Keeping the community positive is everyone's responsibility.
Section 02 — Gameplay Offenses
G-01 · Hacking & Disallowed Modifications Critical
Using any client modification that provides an advantage not available in the standard game is strictly prohibited. This includes: kill aura, aimbot, reach hacks, speed, fly, X-ray, and similar cheats.
Allowed mods include Optifine, minimap mods (without player radar), and performance or cosmetic mods that do not alter gameplay. When in doubt, ask staff before using a mod.
G-02 · Bug Abuse & Exploiting Serious
Deliberately abusing bugs, glitches, or unintended game mechanics to gain an advantage is not allowed. If you discover a bug, you are expected to report it — not exploit it.
G-03 · Teaming & Unfair Alliances Minor
Forming alliances with players from opposing teams in solo game modes to gain a competitive edge is not allowed. This applies to cross-teaming in FFA modes and collusion in ranked matches.
G-04 · Punishment Evasion Critical
Logging onto an alternate account while banned or using any method to circumvent an active punishment is strictly forbidden. The alternate account will be banned, and your original ban may be extended or made permanent.
G-05 · Disallowed Trading Serious
Trading in-game items, currency, or accounts for real money or external goods is prohibited. Only in-game trades using in-game resources are permitted. Account sharing that provides unfair advantages is also disallowed.
Section 03 — Discord Offenses
D-01 · Respect & Conduct Serious
All rules governing respectful behaviour in-game apply equally to the TheSplashMC Discord. Harassment, threats, slurs, and targeted abuse toward any member — including staff — will result in punishment on both platforms.
D-02 · Spam & Raiding Serious
Mass-messaging, tagging staff or members without reason, sending unsolicited DMs to players, or organising any form of raid against the Discord server is strictly prohibited.
D-03 · Inappropriate Content & Media Critical
Posting NSFW images, videos, or links in any channel is forbidden. This includes gore, sexual content, graphic imagery, and shock content. Sharing malicious links, IP loggers, or phishing sites is an instant and permanent ban.
D-04 · Impersonation & Misinformation Serious
Impersonating staff members, other players, or official TheSplashMC accounts is not permitted. Deliberately spreading false information about rules, punishments, or server updates to mislead players is also a violation.
D-05 · Channel Misuse Minor
Each channel has a designated purpose. Posting off-topic content, using bot commands in the wrong channels, or bypassing slow-mode restrictions is not allowed. Use the appropriate channel for your message.
