Greetings Splash Community,

It's great to have everyone here again for another devlog. Things have been moving fast behind the scenes, and today we finally get to pull back the curtain on some of the most exciting progress we've made yet. This one's a big one. We're talking real, tangible gameplay features that are going to shape how you experience Splash from your very first day all the way into the late game grind.

Skills
Let's kick things off with something the community has been asking about for a while now: AuraSkills. Originally created by a former community member, AuraSkills is one of those plugins that genuinely changes the way survival feels. It introduces a deep leveling system that rewards you for just playing. Mining, farming, fighting, exploring, all of it feeds into your progression. On top of that, it comes packed with perks, passive rewards, and quality of life upgrades that make the day-to-day feel a lot more satisfying. We've spent time tailoring it to fit the Splash experience, and we think you're going to love what it adds.

Next up: Quests. And yes, you read that number right. We're bringing over 1,657 quests to the server. Everything from simple beginner tasks to long-term challenges that'll keep even the most dedicated players busy for a long time. The quest texture is still a work in progress, so we're holding back the full showcase until it's polished and ready to be seen in-game the way we want it to be. But it's coming together nicely, and we can't wait to show it off properly.

Alongside quests, we're introducing a brand new Jobs system featuring 12 unique jobs, each one designed to complement the features already built into the server. Whether you're more of a builder, a merchant, a fighter, or a farmer at heart, there's something here for you. Jobs come with their own reward tracks, skill bonuses, and progression paths, giving you yet another reason to sink hours into the world and feel like your playtime actually means something.

We asked the community how they wanted the shop to work, and the feedback was clear. The old model wasn't cutting it, so we've overhauled it entirely around a point-based system. Points are earned through gameplay, plain and simple. No shortcuts, no pay-to-win edge. If you want something from the shop, you earn it.

We've also made a conscious decision to keep the shop focused on survival-relevant items like building blocks, redstone supplies, spawners, and economy essentials. It's not meant to be an everything store. It's meant to support your survival experience without replacing the grind that makes it worthwhile.

On that note, we'll be opening up a community discussion soon around the economy as a whole. How currency flows, how the market works, and what that looks like long term is something we want your input on before we lock anything in.

As for Elytras, this has been a pain point in past iterations of Splash and we've been very deliberate about how we handle it this time around. We've found a solution that keeps the END meaningful and doesn't let Elytras break the balance of regular survival travel. More details on that soon.

Infrastructure Updates

In other news, we've officially secured the infrastructure we need to support Splash's growth going forward. This includes Bedrock Edition support, AntiVPN protection, and proper DDoS mitigation. These aren't glamorous features, but they're foundational. Getting them locked in means we can focus on growth without worrying about the backend falling apart when things get busy. We're expecting a bigger player base as we get closer to launch, and we want to be ready for it.

What's Next

Our next devlog is going to take a little longer than usual, and that's intentional. We're deep in discussions around a feature that we genuinely believe is going to set Splash apart from other survival servers in a meaningful way. We're not ready to talk about it yet, but when we are, it'll be worth the wait. We're also continuing to work through PvP design, making sure it feels fair, fun, and fits the overall direction of the server.

As always, thank you for being here and for your continued support. Splash is being built with you in mind every step of the way. See you in the next one.
